Monastery Gorge

Reservation description and importance:

- complex; it has a spectacular scenery, on a limestone summit, which conserves rare and extremely important plants.

The land is a public property, and partially private.

Protection provided:

The reservation is part of the forestry system, partially marked by forestry sign on stones and trees. The security is assured by the forestry agent.

The actual state of the reservation can be appreciate as being satisfactory, this

because of the relative little touristical pressure, the difficulties in crossing the gorge for reaching the reservation and because of the inaccessibility of gorge arduous walls.

Flora description:The flora contains interference of beench (Fagus silvatica) and evergreen oak (Quercus petraea) forest. A wide range of floristical elements found optimal condition in the gorge area: Saxifraga paniculate, Asperula capitata, Dianthus spiculifolius, Sesleria rigida, Festuca cinerea ssp. pallens.

Including the reservation in local and general economic interests:

The Manastirii Gorge and the Ramet Gorges are touristical objectives, relative frequent by tourists because of its spectacullary scenery and of its placement nearby Ramet Monastery and Ramet Chalet.
